Get Ready to Go! Free Bus Travel for Women in Telangana Launched Today

Hyderabad: Exciting news for women and girls in Telangana! Starting today, December 9th, 2023, they can travel for free on all Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses across the state. This initiative is part of the state government’s “Mahalakshmi” scheme, which aims to empower and support women.

Eligibility: All women and girls of Telangana are eligible for free bus travel under the Mahalaxmi scheme.

Implementation: The scheme will be available on all TSRTC buses, including ordinary, and express, buses.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that they are fulfilling the promises made to the mothers and sisters of the state and launching the free travel scheme.

CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM issued zero tickets to women passengers in city bus this afternoon. This is the first guarantee implemented by the Telangana government after formation of the government and the free rides expected to cost Rs 6 crore everyday to the exchequer which the government promised to reimburse.
